Obituary of Norma Frances Anderson
Norma Parker Anderson was born on November 16, 1931, and went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven on Friday, March 8th, 2024. She is a 1950 graduate of Incarnate Word Academy, where she was elected May Queen, crowned with flowers, and honored as queen of the festivities. She went to college in her later years and studied to be a medical assistant and computer science. After retirement from the medical field, she became a Eucharist Minister serving the Holy Communion the Lord’s Supper for 10 years at St. Helens Catholic Church. She volunteered for 25 years at Memorial Hermann Hospital Southeast.
Norma never met a stranger, and always made new friends. Having 6 children, her hands were full, but she still made it a point to have Sunday dinners; making the house smell good with her home cooked meals. She enjoyed going to football, baseball and basketball practices, and games for her sons. She tried to attend as many as she could. Norma would wake up in the early morning hours to make sure everyone was fed, and lunches were made. Her love for her family goes without saying. She loved to watch football, golf, and The Walton’s. She’ll be remembered for her beautiful smile, loving heart, and helping those in need. Norma was loved and will be missed by all.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Yardley Parker and Frances Weber Parker; siblings Edward, Joseph and wife Evelyn, Harold, Anthony, and Thomas Parker; Harold V Anderson, the father of their 6 children; and her late husband Phillip L Goodwin. Norma is survived by 5 sons and 1 daughter as well as their spouses: Hal and Sharon, Gregory and Donna, Chris and Cindy, Dennis and Pam, Timothy and Tricia, and daughter Diane and husband Allan Landry; Sister-In-Laws, Pattie Sue and Della Parker; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all whom she dearly loved. She now fellowships with her loved ones in Heaven and with our Lord Jesus Christ.
