Obituary of Jorge Carlos Novarini

Dr. Jorge Carlos Novarini passed away on Wednesday, December 4^th, 2024, in Pearland, Texas, at the age of 82. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Novarini and America (Bono) Novarini; and his sister, Susy Novarini. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Nora Novarini and his children, Andrew Novarini and wife Julia, and Debora Novarini; his granddaughter, Capri Novarini; and a host of many other family and friends.

Jorge was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who centered his life around his family, and his career. Gifted with an incredibly brilliant mind, Jorge enjoyed an extremely successful career in the field of Acoustical Physics. Over his 45+ year career, he held many positions including being Secretary of Academic affairs for the University of Buenos Aires, Adjunct Research Professor for the Naval Post Graduate School, Head of the High Frequency Loss Branch of the US Naval Oceanographic Office and Senior Scientist for Planning Systems Inc. During his time, he published over 50 periodicals and articles in peer reviewed scientific journals and earned many distinctions, including being named a fellow of the Acoustical society of America.  

Jorge was an avid dancer, he also enjoyed studying history, music, model train sets and was a big fan of Indy Car races. He had a dry witty sense of humor and was always ready to laugh and have a good time. Jorge had a special place in his heart for dogs. More than anything, Jorge loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

An open Memorial Service for Jorge will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, December 12^th, 2024, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland. Jorge’s cremated remains will be laid to rest at on the same day at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery in Houston, TX.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests a donation be made in his name to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Long Beach, MS.
