Shirley Callihan Laird passed away on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her parents, Seaford L. Callihan and Lizzie (Ferguson) Callihan, and her sister, Lilly Belle Stubbs. Left to cherish Shirley’s memory are her husband of 60 years, David Laird; son, Gerald Laird and wife Susanne; daughters, Pam Gulledge and Cathy Petrie and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Courtney, Travis and wife Tarasa, Corey and wife Lindsey, Jenny and husband Joey, and Ryan and wife Chrissie; great grandchildren, Tristyn, Tatum, Hayes, Jordan, and Joseph; and a host of many other family and friends.
Shirley married the love of her life, David, on Christmas day in 1964, and together they raised a family, and spent 60 wonderful years together. In their retirement years, David and Shirley loved to take road trips together and especially enjoyed their trips to the East and West coasts. Shirley was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. To know her, was to love her. She enjoyed dancing, trips to the Casino to play slots, and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
