Obituary of Dylan Thomas Carlson

Please share a memory of Dylan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With great sadness we regret to announce the passing on May 26th, 2025, of  Veteran SSG Dylan Thomas Carlson, age 35, a resident of Robstown, TX in Nueces County. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Thomas Earl Richardson Sr., uncle Thomas Earl Richardson Jr., and aunt Cary Lynn Richardson. He is survived by his son, Brody Layne Carlson, his mother and step-father Kelley and Robert Glover, grandmother Gloria Richardson. Dylan is a proud brother and step-brother to Brittany Golden, Casey Carlson, and Kayla West. He has numerous nieces and nephews including: Penny, Garrett, and Grant Golden, Jackson and Westin Carlson, Lance Maddy and Ashlynn West. His sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ashley Carlson, Jason Golden, and Eric West. His aunt and uncle: Dee and Alfred Rodriguez and cousins: Ernest and Eacey Ivey, Devin Brandon, Cody Carlson, and Zaine Carlson.

Dylan was a proud Father to Brody. They spent time turning wrenches in the shop to turn “Huckleberry,” their C10, into a racing truck. They loved working on trucks and taking adventures. Brody was the light of his life. He also loved the companionship from his prized dogs, Duke and Kahlua. When Dylan graduated high school in La Porte, TX, he enlisted into the United States Army where he was stationed in Ft. Hood, TX, served our country courageously in Kuwait operating and troubleshooting patriot missile launchers in an imminent danger zone, and was honorably discharged as an SSG recruiter in Florida. At the time of his passing, he was an Operator at Vopak Terminals at their brand-new facility in Corpus Christi, TX. Dylan had an infectious laugh and a smile that would light up the world. His humor, drive, playful demeanor, charismatic charm, spontaneity, kindness, and willingness to always lend a hand will be missed. He wasn’t here for a long time, but he was here to live life to the fullest. Please join us and his pallbearers: Casey Carlson, Jackson Carlson, Robert Glover, Andrew Kettering, Joshua Gordon, Gabriel Najer, James Miller, and Stedman Joseph and his honorary pallbearers: Brody Carlson, Westin Carlson, Garrett Golden, Grant Golden, and Lance Maddy as we carry Dylan into his new journey. We’d love for you to wear colors to celebrate Dylan’s life.

Thank you for your service and defending our country, Dylan.
