Though I had not seen John (JMac to me and many others) in many years, my memory of him seems larger than life.
He seemed to be loved and respected by all that knew him.
My life is richer for having known him.

I went to Central High School with John graduating in 1974. I was saddened to hear of the death of John as I remember him as one of the nicest boys in school. Sympathy to the family as it appears we all have lost a wonderful man.

To say John was a wonderful man is such an understatement! My life was truly blessed by having the opportunity to work with him. The love he had for the children he worked with showed daily! I will never forget the way his face lit up everytime he talked about his family, hunting and fishing! May God bless Maureen and Megan in the days, weeks, months and years to come! John, I can’t wait to see you again…. Until I come home….

John was the greatest friend one could ever have hoped for, both to me and to my family – in fact to everyone he knew. As someone else said this week, the world is a colder, darker place without him. He is already, and always will be, sorely missed.

It is my belief that God has another angel. I hope the family is comforted by the out pouring of love bestowed upon John and you. It is a rare man that has positively affected so many people and in so many places. There was a wake of love and warmth that spread from his path, no matter, where that path took him.

Although I have never met you Maureen and your beautiful daughter Maegan, I have heard so much from Chris and Beth about you. John and Chris are my 2nd cousins; my mother Katherine Troth and John’s father John were 1st cousins. My prayers have been with you for a long time and I know the sorrow that comes with your loss. It was a blessing to have the special times you have had and we know he is at peace and whole now. Love to you both, Suzanne

Maureen I am so sorry. The Miller’s have you and your family in our prayers. The poem below is one I read at my Mom’s funeral.–Jack
Farewell to a friend.
This is the place where we must sever…
You go thousands of miles.
My friend.
Once forever.
Like the floating clouds.
We drift apart…
The sunset lingers like the feelings of my heart.

John was and will always be an inspiration to those who knew him as a loyal fraternity brother. He never had a negative comment about anything or anybody.Through his courageous battle with cancer he always remained positive….his concern was never about himself but always about those he loved. We as brothers learned much from John …..he has “given us the faith.” Mike Arms..Knoxville Tn.

Maureen/Megan, My prayers go to you both. John was one of the nicest men I have ever met. He was a great Co-Worker for all of the years he worked at Ford, and I truely considered him more a friend than a co-worker. He left this earth too soon, but is no longer suffering. Heaven just received a true gentleman when John arrived.
Sincerely, Keith Koonce
