(Vincent) Joseph Campo, 27, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014. He is preceded in death by his brother, Patrick James Campo and grandfather, Vincent Joseph Campo. Joseph is survived by his parents, Sammy and Lisa Campo; sister, Elizabeth Campo; brother, Stephen Campo; grandparents, Anna Campo, and Dr. and Mrs. William P. Deiss; aunts and uncles, Lew Benham, Ann and Erwin Wilbanks, Ann Marie and Dan Girardot, Mary Jo Campo, Charlie Campo, Katherine and James Williams, John and Heather Campo, Larry Benham; and a host of other family and friends. Joseph was a talented soccer player, and played for twelve years. An avid runner, he ran track and cross country for Pearland High School. Upon graduation, he was given the opportunity to walk on to Texas Tech’s Cross Country Team. Lately, he and his dog, Sadie, enjoyed running and cooling down by playing fetch in the water. Joseph was also known for feeding people a “line of bull,” but wasn’t very good at it. He inherited his dad’s upturned grin that would be apparent when he was trying to tell a tall tale. Joseph was very caring and generous to family and friends alike. He once bought a pallet of Dublin Dr. Pepper for a friend just because it was her favorite. He shared his Paw-Paw’s work ethic and love of life. Joseph worked hard and played hard; the outdoors was his playground. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on through his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Joseph’s honor to the Wounded Warriors Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org A visitation for Joseph will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Father Charles Borski and Father James Courville officiating.
