James “Jim” M. Crowell, 71, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vince and Veleria Crowell; brothers, Gene and Earl Crowell; sister, Freda Crowell. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Crowell; son, Rick Crowell; daughter, Anne Marie Seaton; brothers, Billy Crowell and wife, Rosie, Charlie Crowell and wife, Frances, Roger Crowell and wife, Chris; sister, Becky Flippo and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Natalie Weir, Eric Crowell, Ashlyn Seaton, Adrianna Seaton, Amber Seaton, Priscilla Crowell; and a host of other family and friends.
Jim was an excellent provider for his family and worked for 48 years as a brick layer. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that cherished spending time with his family. Jim enjoyed the outdoors; going fishing, gardening, or just working on his Jeep. He was an avid sports fan that proudly rooted for the Texans, Rockets and Astros. Jim was Masonry Foreman on the children’s building project at Sagemont Church. He looked forward to their gambling trips to Lake Charles. Jim loved collecting other people’s junk and would either fix or repair the items and then give them away. He was affectionately known as “Granddaddy” and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s honor to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. The Memorial Service for Jim will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Rex Forsyth officiating.
