To all the Maples family I extend my deepest sympathy. You all were such great neighbors when you lived in Katy. I remember some of the late Sunday afternoons we played golf at Green Meadows golf course. Tom was such a great golfer. I last saw him a few years back at the Methodist annual conference. He had not changed at all. Easy going and had the same wit he always had. I pray that God will give you the strength, healing and peace in the days ahead.

Tobin,
I’m sorry and saddened to read about the loss of your Dad. I know he was a good man and a strong influence in your life as much as you talked about him. I’ll be praying that God shows his love and support to you and your brothers and your Mother and your kids during this really tough time.

Shirley, Tom, Todd, Tobin, and the rest of the Maples family,
I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Tom, Sr. As you all know he was the first manager I worked for and he was a tremendous role model to me both in my personal life and professionally. I remember fondly all the golf games we used to play out in Katy and how he always talked about wanting to do nothing more than to be on the senior circuit. I know that Tom will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

To my dear cousin, Shirley, and her entire family … I do not have the right words, no one does at times like this. Our family “hero” has passed. What a wonderful man, loving husband, and great father and grandfather he was! He will be sadly missed by all of us. So sorry I did not get to talk to him one last time. But I will see him again someday as we all will. Love from Tom’s “Yankee Cousin” … Cindy

Lost several family members and friends this year, but none hit harder than the loss of my “Houston Dad”. Incredible personality and influence in my life; especially during those difficult college years. He was always possessed with hilarious dry humor and pragmatic views and he always put a smile on my face no matter how down I was feeling. I showed respect by calling him Mr. Maples, but regarded him as just Tom. Farewell my friend. I will surely see you again someday.
