Worked with Bill in Pearland in about 1977 or 1978. I was around 24 then. Many fond memories. I had come from East Texas and was working for the Santa Fe Railroad.
You have my sympathy.

I was late receiving the news about Bill, I worked with him for many years on the former Santa Fe at the hub and enjoyed knowing and working with him until his retirement. I retired in 2012 from the BNSF. Bill was always great to work with and very few people knew the Santa Fe Railway as well as he did. I learned a lot from him. My thoughts and prayers are with Bill’s family and friends during this terrible loss.

I am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. Both of our Dads worked for Santa Fe RR for a long time. My pop always spoke so highly of your dad. Prayers for your family in such a difficult time.

Ronnie, you are in my prayers, and thank you for calling me. I am so glad Bill and I got to talk recently, and I will miss him so much. Working with him at Santa Fe since we were teenagers he was a dear friend.

Dear Ronnie it was such a pleasure to know your dad for all 13 years as a friend and a great neighbor, I enjoyed all our times we got together to eat, to do little shopping and he really enjoyed all his friends at Whataburger. It was a great place to meet every day and it got him up in the morning because he knew that his fellow veteran friends and other friends would be there. I miss him so much. The tears have lessen, ???? I wish he was closer, so that I could visit him on Veteran’s Day. God bless you

Ronnie, We were so sorry to hear about Billy Wayne’s passing. He will be greatly missed. We were always happy to see him during the holidays, when he would come out to Mother’s and spend some time with us. It was always a joy to hear his stories about the good ole days, and he always spoke with Pride about his son! He was very proud of your accomplishments, that much was clear. Wish Jeff & I could be there tonight and tomorrow to offer our support personally, but we will be there in spirit. Sending our deepest condolences and love.

Ronnie,
Your dad’s obituary is so beautiful. I have so many memories of Uncle Bill and Aunt Dell and Billy Wayne and your mom and you over the years.
He was always there when something was going on in the family. He will be greatly missed.

Ronnie, It was a blessing to both you and your dad that you were able to personally care for him during his last journey. Take comfort that he lived a full life and his memories will endure for as long as you are in this world. My condolences.

Ronnie,
Loved the beautiful tribute to your father. He sounds a lot like his only son. Perhaps a part of us goes with a parent who dies. And, perhaps a part of the parent stays with us.
I’ll think of your Dad next Whataburger I see.

Sarah and I send our condolences, Ronnie. I’m glad we got to meet your dad and talk with him a few times. And I’m glad you were able to be together during his final days. It must have been a source of great peace and happiness for him to know you loved him and were there for him as he dealt with his health issues.
