Obituary of Margarita Maria Alvarez

Margarita Maria Alvarez, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vincente and Ramona Puerta; brothers, Guillermo and Bernando Puerta; and sisters, Lucia and Graciela Puerta. Margarita is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Francisco Alvarez; son, Orlando Alvarez and wife, Mary; daughters, Consuelo Cordoba and husband, William, Maria Maldonado, Patricia Alvarez; grandchildren, William Jr, Miguel, Francisco, Adriana, Monica, Joseph, Margarita, Juan Carlos, Steven and Josephine; seventeen great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Margarita loved her roses and gardening. Her favorite hobby was taking care of her finches and watching them in their cages. Margarita loved spending time shopping with her daughters. She and Francisco enjoyed traveling all over the world and made friends wherever she went. Margarita’s greatest pride however was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She adored them and cherished spending time with them whenever she could. Margarita will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation, rosary and service for Margarita will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 1:30 pm and the rosary will be recited at 2:30 pm. The service will begin at 3:00 pm with Deacon Richard Reyes officiating.
