Obituary of Juanita Mei-Juk Dee Lam
Please share a memory of Juanita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Juanita Mei-Juk Dee Lam passed away Thursday, November 17, 2005 at her home in Pearland surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Lam was born in Manila, Philippines in 1923. She was one of eight children with six brothers and a sister. In 1946, Juanita met Mr. Daniel Lam from Hong Kong. Juanita and Daniel were married in Hong Kong in 1947 and together they raised four children, Dorothy, Daniel Jr., Anita and Denise. Seeing that the future of Hong Kong was unpredictable, they made provisions for the children to study and remain in the United States. They themselves immigrated to the United States when Daniel retired in 1995. Daniel and Juanita made their home in Palos Verde, California near their daughter Denise and subsequently moved to Texas where their other three children lived. Juanita and Daniel have been living in Pearland, Texas since 1997.
Juanita was a devout Christian. She was solidly and genuinely grounded in her faith and her trust in God. Because of this deep abiding faith, she accepted and faced life’s challenges with grace and strength. Juanita was a loyal and devoted wife to Daniel for the past 58 years. A happy, gentle spirit, Juanita is well loved and respected by both friends and family.
Juanita will be dearly missed by her husband, Daniel, her children and their families; Dorothy, Dai-Shan and Alison; Daniel Jr., Rosa and Jennifer; Anita, Edson and Mia; and Denise, Lesley, Lauren and Estelle.
The family received friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland. A Celebration of Juanita’s Life was held at 4 PM Sunday, November 20, 2005, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland with Rev. Franklin Lee officiating. Private committal services and interment were held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in Dickinson.
