Joe was always known for being outgoing, friendly and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed telling a good joke or hearing a new one. Joe made friends everywhere he went and was known for giving and receiving great hugs and kisses to his family. He especially enjoyed going to the Melvin Knapp Senior Center every day where he could play dominos, bingo and socialize. Joe was strong in his family and a long time, dedicated member of St. Helen Catholic Church for more than 50 years. He was active in the Men’s Club at St. Helen, served as usher for many years and trained new usher recruits. Joe always enjoyed helping cook the barbecue for the annual church bazaar. He was employed for 41 years with Texaco, where he was a roust-about (oilfield worker). Joe received numerous safety awards over the years from Texaco before his retirement. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing on the baseball team in Manvel. Joe will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Joe’s care-providers, Mary Ann, Travecca, Elizabeth, and Rebecca. You will always be part of “our family”.
