Obituary of Maurice Edward and Joyce Louise Casey

Maurice peacefully passed from this earth to be with the Lord on December 2, 2014 and was followed by Joyce, his beloved wife who joined him in Heaven April 20, 2015. They will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved them. Maurice was 86 years old and Joyce was 87 years old. Maurice liked to joke that Joyce would always be older than him. Maurice was born to Maurice and Josephine Casey in Houston Texas. He graduated from Milby High School, attended the University of Texas, Austin, served in the U.S. Navy, and owned and operated Marine Fumigation Service 1951-1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf. Joyce was born to Robert and Clara Rogge in Garden Villas neighborhood, Houston, Texas. She also graduated from Milby High School, attended UofH Massey Business College and was a 1948 graduate of Feather and Feather Art School, degreed in Fashion Illustration and Design. She was a gifted artist. Her hobbies included softball, bowling, oil painting, sewing, golf, and bridge. She made sure their home was never without at least one adopted dog. They both loved to travel and enjoyed Country Western music. Maurice also enjoyed some Classical and Light Opera, while Joyce enjoyed Boogie Woogie music. They were very proud of and loved spending time with their grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Maurice was proceeded in death by his parents Maurice and Josephine Casey, and his sister Nina Irene Stacy. Joyce was proceeded in death by her parents Robert and Clara Rogge, her brothers Robert Rogge Jr and wife, Verda; Charles Rogge and wife Winnie, and brother-in-law Morris Lewis.
They were survived by their daughter Kathleen Brian and husband Jim; granddaughter Casey Hadley and husband Cliff; great grandchildren Cailey and Dade; grandson Kris Brian and wife Kasey; great-grandchild Kenna; Joyce’s sister Nell Lewis and a host of other family and friends.
A private family celebration of life service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
