Obituary of Helen Jean Emery

The Lord called home Helen J. Emery on April 29, 2015. Helen was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the second child of Anthony and Mary (Bilinska) Luszcz. She graduated from South High School in 1938, graduated from Youngstown University and attended Kent University’s master program. She was married to Kenneth R. Emery of Youngstown from May 9, 1942 until his passing on April 12, 1984. She was a long time resident of Liberty Township and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard. In 2007, she moved to Sugar Land, Texas to be closer to family. She is survived by her children Leslie (Robert) Kennedy of Campbell, CA, Kenneth (Jane) Emery II of Warner Robins, GA and Lynn Ramsey of Sugar Land, TX; as well as her older brother Henry Luszcz of Naperville, IL, six grand-children and 18 great grand-children. Helen’s active life style and career included teaching at Youngstown College Business School and W.S. Guy School of the Liberty School District. She served with the Red Cross Motor Corp during WWII, was a member of OEA, NEA and TRTA educational associations, Delta Delta of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, a member of Hit & Miss, GHY, Par Pals golf league, and was active in line dancing groups, Liberty Seniors and the Liberty Historical Society. She continued her active life in Sugar Land, TX involved in golf, line dancing, and other activities. A memorial service for Helen will take place June 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 5400 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
