Obituary of Mildred Florine Burkhalter Crouch

Mildred Florine Burkhalter Crouch, 99, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at her home. Florine was born at home in Wellborn, and she attended the Texas A&M Consolidated School District. She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Bama Vance Burkhalter; her loving husband, Lewis Edward Crouch, Sr.; son, Lewis E. Crouch, Jr.; brothers, Earl Vance and D.D. Burkhalter; sister, Frances Nedra Nordenstrom. Florine is survived by her son, Clifford Crouch; daughter, Billie Jean Christman and husband, Boyd; sister, Dorothy Nell Santina and husband, Richard; grandson, Douglas Christman and wife, Janet; grandson, David Christman; granddaughter, Dana Jackson and husband, Robert; great grandchildren, Laura Seal and husband, Danny; Amanda Tomlinson and husband, Seth; D.J. Christman and wife, Kasie; Aric Christman; Alan Brumley; Amanda Gonzales and husband, Richard; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. She had maintained life-long relations with friends and family in Wellborn, Millican, and the Brazos Valley. Florine worked for many years as a credit supervisor, ending her career at Bank of the Southwest. She loved her family, her yard and music. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 4 at Garden Road Baptist Church, 2101 Garden Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Donald Pope officiating. Interment followed at SouthPark Cemetery.
