Ramon Alaniz Renteria of Manvel, passed away on October 2, 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Petra (Alaniz) Renteria. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elda; son, Ramon Renteria Jr.; daughter, Lizette Gonzalez & her husband Julian; brother, Alfonso Renteria & his wife Lupita; sister, Maria Del Socorro Mendez & her husband Manuel; grandchildren, Justin Ray Gonzalez & Lauren Nicole Gonazalez; extended family, Miriam Ordonez & her husband Carlos, Claudine, Tivou, & Miriam Ordonez, Mercedez Ordonez & her husband Jaime, Renee, Brian, & Leslie; and a host of many other family & friends. Ramon was born in Gomez Palacio, Mexico on December 10, 1932. He resided in the Houston area for forty years and worked for the City of Pearland in the Street & Sign Department. Ramon worked hard his entire life and was always a good provider for his family. He was a loving husband who was always there for Elda and his children and grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Paw Paw”. Baseball was an enjoyable pasttime of his whether watching the grandkids games or the Houston Astros. Ramon loved the outdoors and that was where he preferred to be, working on a project or just spending time with the family. Visitation for Ramon will be on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Clayton Chapel. Interment will be at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
