Obituary of Jadonne Ruth Humann Harper

Jadonne Ruth Humann Harper, 82, passed away on July 5th, 2015 at Colonnade Nursing Home. She was born in Tecumseh, Nebraska on July 9, 1932 at home on her parent’s farm. She was the oldest of three children, survived by her sister Jane Ann Humann Willis and preceded in death by her brother Keith William Humann.
Judy held numerous jobs over the years. In her late teens and early 20’s she was a cook on a cattle ranch in Grand Lake, Colorado. Judy was a waitress at the Top Shelf Restaurant in Great Falls, Montana. Later she studied nursing and became a Practical Nurse in South Carolina. While in Florida she worked for the Auto Train. During her later years she was a clerk at Buddy’s Convenience Store in Pearland, Texas. Most people knew her from the office at Rain Tree Acres Mobile Home Park in Pearland where she was volunteer help for her sister.
Aunt Judy could most be found in the kitchen cooking and was never too busy to lend an ear. She loved Westerns and her favorite was Gun Smoke.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Humann and her son James William Slaughter. She is survived by her two daughters Barbara Nelson and Betsy Slaughter; her Grand Children James Ronald Bishop, Amy Marie Ledford, and Tracy Russell Bishop; her Great Grand Children James Blake Bishop, Phillip Tyler Ledford, and Jake Andrew Ledford; Nieces and Nephews Ivan Eastridge, Diane Taylor, Linda Kinkade, Travis Arch; Great Nieces and Great Nephews Zachary Taylor, Tommy Arch, Shelby Brown, Sophie Kinkade.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5pm, Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3302 County Road 89, Pearland, Texas.
