Percy Robert Handy, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Violet Handy; daughter, Laverne Waters; brother, Jack Handy; sisters, Violet Handy, Orelia Handy, Maude Charles and Bobby Handy; and grandson, Tavaris Handy. Percy is survived by his loving wife, of 55 years, Lula Bell Handy; son, Robert Handy Jr,; daughters, Sandra Williams and Diana Ina; brothers, Will Handy Jr. and Paul Handy; sisters, Veda Drake and Joyce Pickney; grandchildren, Cedrick and Tasha Handy, LaTonya Maliniconio, Ashley Ina, Robert Handy III; eleven great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Percy was a man of great faith and devoted member of Fourth Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was an excellent provider for his family and instilled his strong work ethic in his children. Percy worked for over 50 years for the same roofing company. He was affectionately known as “Pops” to his family and friends. Percy will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation and funeral service for Percy will be held Monday, July 13, 2015 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Anthony Rogers and Pastor John P. Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
