Obituary of Gloria Alice Amundsen

Gloria Alice Amundsen, 87, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 in Pearland, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Rolland and Ursula Joslyn; and husband, Richard Allan Amundsen. Gloria is survived by her sons, William J. Amundsen, Thomas Allan Amundsen and wife, Debra; sister, Dona Thomann and husband, Jack; grandchildren, Kimberly, Melanie, Kristin and Erica Amundsen; great grandchildren, Mariah, Ava and Christian; and a host of other family and friends. Gloria was born July 22, 1927 along with her twin sister in Chicago, Illinois to Don Taylor and Ursula Farnham. Don passed away when the girls were very young. Ursula later married Walter Rolland Joslyn, who adopted the girls as his own. On September 27, 1947, Gloria married her high school sweetheart, Richard Amundsen, spent 64 wonderful years together and raised two sons. She cherished spending time with her family, and friends and enjoyed golfing, cooking, dancing, playing cards and gardening. Gloria will forever be remembered for her loving, caring, generous and understanding nature and could always be found with a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A graveside service for Gloria will be held, Friday, July 31, 2015 at 2:45 pm at Memory Garden Cemetery in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
