George Thomas Crye, 82, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015. He is preceded in death by parents, George and Nona Crye; and brother, Gene Crye. George is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Louise Crye; son, Bruce Juneau and wife, Leslie; daughters, Gail Juneau Matthews and husband, George, Jackie Juneau Bordelon and husband, Rodney; sister, Betty Brashier; grandchildren, Keith Ford, Chad Monk, Tina Smith, Chris Monk, and Vanessa Anderson; great grandchildren, Josh Ford, Cora Smith, and Cannon Smith; nephews, Randy Brashier and wife, Judy, Buba Crye and wife, Randi; and a host of other family and friends.
George was born in Springfield, Arkansas on January 22, 1933. George proudly served his country in the United States Army. He had a successful career in the steel industry and had a great reputation as being a “start-up” specialist. He was a strong Christian with good moral character. In his earlier years, he enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. George had a gifted green thumb and he enjoyed gardening throughout his life. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed sitting in his recliner and reading his Kindle. He could even be seen sitting out back enjoying a good cigar. George also enjoyed woodworking and making trunks for his family. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A visitation for George will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The graveside service for George will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:00 am at Bordelon Cemetery in Marksville, Louisiana.
