James “Jim” Thomas Lenahan IV, 50, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015. He is preceded in death by his father, James Thomas Lenahan III. Jim is survived by his mother, Bernadette Woerner Lenahan; his loving wife of 12 years, Kara Lenahan; daughter, Erin Lenahan; brother, Edward Lenahan and wife, Stacey; sisters, Karen Lenahan Anderson and husband, John, Bernadette Lenahan; nephews and nieces, Scott Kirkland, Courtney Kirkland, Shaun Kirkland and wife, Charlcie, Justin Anderson, Seth Lenahan, Taylor Lenahan, Blake Lenahan, Heidi Martino and husband, Geoff, Derek Shullenbarger; and a host of other family and friends.
Jim was a man of great faith and was devoted to his family. He believed strongly in helping others and had a very generous and giving spirit as evidenced in his willingness to be an organ and tissue donor which was honored by his family. Jim cherished spending time with his family and loved traveling to watch games and events, or to spend holidays. Christmas was his favorite holiday and he always looked forward to singing carols, driving around neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights and watching the kids open their presents. Jim was a huge sports fan and enjoyed watching his beloved Astros as well as Notre Dame and Sam Houston State football. Jim had a contagious laugh, a wonderful sense of humor and found great joy in being silly with his pride and joy, Erin. He was so excited to be a dad and considered Erin his greatest achievement. Jim believed the perfect day involved sitting outside in 60 degree weather, surrounded by his family listening to the Astros game while grilling and enjoying a cigar. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
