Obituary of Evelyn Shear

Evelyn Corrine Shear, age 82 of Manvel, passed away on March 23, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius & Loreita Huttner; husband, Donald Shear; aunt, Evelyn Anderson; brother, Keith Huttner; and sister, Betty Jensen. She is survived by her sons, Gerald Shear and Richard Shear & his wife Karen; brothers, Gary Huttner & his wife Mavis, Joel Huttner, and Paul Huttner & his wife Sandy; sisters, Reita Beard & her husband Dick; stepsister, Carol Wilson; grandchildren, Bradly Shear, his wife Robyn & their son Wyatt, and Randy Shear & his wife Ashley; and a host of many other family & friends. Evelyn was born on February 6, 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was married for 52 years to Donald. Most of her life was spent in the north before settling in Texas in 1981. Evelyn had many interests. She enjoyed antiques, quilting, and needlework. She loved the outdoors, especially boating. She had a fondness for animals and took excellent care of her dogs. Evelyn’s family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 6:00 pm at the Clayton Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 pm. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to AMED Hospice for the loving care they provided to Evelyn during her illness.
