Obituary of Arthur G. Gonzales

Arthur G. Gonzales, Jr., 55, lost his battle with cancer on January 14, 2006. Born on November 23, 1950 in Knox City, Texas to Arthur & Maria Gonzales. He was a lifelong resident of Houston, Texas where he attended school. His entire life was spent in the plumbing industry, where like his brothers, learned the trade from their father, who owned Speedy Gonzales and Sons Plumbing and Heating Company. Arthur was a devoted son who was nicknamed and known as "Speedy Jr" throughout the industry. Arthur went on to form his own business, Doc's Plumbing Clinic, where his sons worked with their father as well. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Willie Gonzales Sr. He is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Herlinda Gonzales, sons, Arthur G. Gonzales III, Paul Felix and wife, Mayra. Daughters Toni Ann Gonzales, Sylvia Durham and husband Robert. 7 loving grandchildren. Brothers and their wives: Johnny and Hilda, Albert and Christy, Raymond and Judy, Arturo and Maria of Brownsville. Sisters and their husbands: Mary Ann and Jose Padilla, Yolanda and Mauro Garcia, Isabel and Ricardo Gonzalez, Sylvia and Larry Hall, Sonya and Joel Cadriel, Irma Day, Marbe and Tommie Cherry, Sandra and Rudy Peralez. Arthur also had numerous nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, January 16th from 6:00 - 9:00 pm with words of encouragement and a eulogy beginning at 7:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland 5530 Broadway Pearland, Texas. Tuesday, January 17th services will begin at Clayton's at 1:00 pm with videography of Arthur's life. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Park Lawndale 6900 Lawndale Avenue Houston, Texas.
