Dorothy (Dottie) Jean Moffett, 68, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed into the loving arms of our heavenly Father, May 6, 2009. Despite a long battle with polycystic kidneys, she died very much as she lived, with grace and dignity, epitomizing the meaning of a “Strong Woman” until the very end. Dottie is preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Paul Austin Saylors, and her sister, Mary Harrison. She is survived by her loving husband; son, Randy Saylors and his wife, Kim; daughter, Cindy Skibin and Roger Flores; stepson, Robert Moffett; grandchildren, Joshua Skibin, Kassya Saylors, Scott Moffett, Jenna Hankins, Trystan Hanning, Chase Hanning, Kyle Friedsam, and Cody Farrant; brother, Eugene Smith and his wife, Mary Ann; sister, Edith Wilson and her husband, Carroll; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of many other loving family and friends. Dottie was born in Pasadena, Texas on June 20, 1940, the youngest daughter of Ranual & Sybil Smith. She married Charles (Chuck) Moffett in 1980, and they lived in Pearland, Texas until 2006, at which time they moved to Livingston, Texas. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #1065, Pearland, Texas for a number of years. In her early childhood, she made her profession of faith and became a member of Pasadena First Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank Pearland & Livingston DaVita Center, Lufkin Memorial Hospital, Hospice Care of the Southwest, and The Bradford at Brookside in Livingston, Texas for all their loving care and support over the years. Family and friends may visit Dottie on Monday, May 11, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, 281-485-4446. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Clayton Chapel with Rev. Stephen Daily officiating. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #1065, Pearland, will be attending. Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Flores, Bill Wood, Joshua Skibin, Mark Skibin, Michael Smith, and Robbie Smith.
