Charles “Chuck” Richard Lambert, Sr., age 88, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at his home in Missouri City, TX after a brief cancer illness. Born on June 6, 1927 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Walter and Ruby (Padgham) Lambert (deceased). Brother to Walter E. “Bud” Lambert, Jr. (deceased). Survived by his wife, Constance Lambert, and 4 children from his first marriage to Joann Lambert (deceased): Dr. Charles R. Lambert, Jr. (Bonnie), James J. Lambert, Suzanne Lambert Guidry, and Joseph M. Lambert (Tina); along with two step children, Lenore Bridgewater and Rodney Beals. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Charles R. Lambert, III (Jalita), John B. Lambert (Jenny), Amanda J. Lambert, Brittany L. Lambert-Brown (Wayne), Carly S. Lambert, Cal J. Lambert, Madeline S. Guidry, Katherine J. Guidry, Evangeline R. Guidry, Jordan Forest and Bailey Walker; along with 3 great grandchildren: Mason J. Stoothoff, McKenzie L. Brown, and Charles R. “Jack” Lambert, IV; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family; and by his trusted canine companion, Omega Lambert.

After graduating from high school in Lake City, Iowa, Chuck served with the U.S. Marine Corps in WWII, and then graduated from the University of Michigan.  His career in chemical engineering spanned more than 3 decades and took him to Texas, Louisiana, and Japan, where he helped the country develop and construct new refineries in the 1950’s. Chuck retired from engineering in New Orleans, LA, and returned to school at the University of New Orleans, where he earned degrees in anthropology and sociology. He then spent more than a decade teaching family relations, criminal justice, criminology and other classes at local colleges and universities, as well as regularly tutoring GED students. Chuck was an active Christian since birth, serving in many capacities, including teacher, elder, lay pastor, and choir member. He was a brilliant man, always learning and sharing information, a voracious reader, a frequent traveler who visited every newly born grandchild and great grandchild, and, to the delight of grandchildren, a master at the Nintendo Game Boy and Nintendo 3DS. He was devoted to faith and family, gave unconditionally from the heart, and shared his time, gifts and love throughout his life. A Memorial Reception for Chuck will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 3:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Land, 502 Eldridge Rd., Sugar Land, Texas 77478.
