Today, March 27th, is the date that Richard was born. Over the many years we were together we have celebrated in numerous locations and in a variety of ways - sometimes we had plenty and could "do it up big" and other times we barely got by but the important thing was we were together. Richard may be apart from us now but his legacy will live on for many years to come. He was so skilled in metal work, wood working and other creative crafts. His handiwork can be seen throughout the state of New Mexico and Texas. We used to create items and sell them - the items were in stores as far as northern New Mexico, to the Texas panhandle, Dallas and small towns near Houston. He was a gifted mechanic and someone who loved to work with with his hands whether with wood or metal. He was generous with his talents often helping friends and neighbors. He was a loving person and once when I asked him what is one of the best birthday gifts you ever got - he said "when Jaime was born on my birthday - that is the best birthday gift I ever had." And so this year my family and friends will celebrate Richard's birthday in our hearts and remember how blessed we were to have Richard as part of our lives. We love and miss you so much.

I am Richard's sister-in-law and I loved him very much. He was so good and kind and always helped me. I called him Saint Richard and he was that to me. I miss him so much. He loved me too. When I graduated from college, he bought a new shirt to wear to my graduation He and my sister, D'Ann, drove from New Mexico to Amarillo,Texas to be with me.
