Obituary of Lupe Chavez

Lupe Chavez, 99, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gonzalo and Manuela Chavez; daughters, Maria Jimenez, and Yolanda Chavez; brother, Gonzalo Chavez, Jr.; and sister, Sara Salazar. Lupe is survived by her son, Joe Raymond Rodriguez; grandchildren Mary Alice Vasquez, Frank Jimenez, Richard Jimenez, Belinda Garza, Ernest Jimenez, Cindy Rodriguez, Joe Raymond Rodriguez Jr., Johnny Rodriguez, Rudy Rodriguez, Camelita Olivares; numerous great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Lupe was a hard worker her entire life and was a strong spoken woman. She had a strong faith and was always generous to the church and those in need. Lupe loved cooking for her family and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation and rosary for Lupe will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home, 204 Meyer Street, Taft, Texas 78390. The visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 pm with the Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral mass will take place Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2414 Main Street, Ingleside, Texas 78362 with Father Thomas Wellar officiating. Interment will follow at San Ignacio Cemetery in Ingleside, Texas.
