Hello Robbie
Carmel told me of your mother and Billy's deaths, but I didn't really know how to get in touch - the phone numbers I have for you all aren't still working. I only managed to get this bloody computer working for internet recently - very slow, but, if patience is possible... I would love to get in touch with you. Hope you are keeping well - Sonny and I are getting old, and are starting to have medical problems, but, hey, that's life!
Love to all
Kath

Aunt Rita, my youngest and last aunt, may god bless you. At last Bill and Rita are together again. I have a few memories I thought I would tell you about:
After Bill and Rita were married in June 1948, they were broke and my father, Jerry Bozzone, offered them the use of our summer bungalow in Huntington Beach, Long Island for their honeymoon. I was only 14 living in Flushing, Queens and not at all sure what a honeymoon was, but I’m sure they enjoyed their time there at the beach.
One time when Bobbie and I visited Bill and Rita in Poughkeepsie (we were still single), Bill and Rita were going out to dinner and our job was to babysit little Billy. Little Bill was about a year old and not walking yet. Well we fixed things up good for them .. when they came back from dinner, he was walking.
Bill and Rita took us on a trip with them to Nuevo Laredo in Mexico. It was a long drive from Houston and I remember on a stretch of desolate road, a helicopter warned us not to stop or get out of the car because of snakes in the area. I remember Bill taking us all around town looking for a ‘black light’, We went to about a dozen places when a vendor said he knew where to get them … in the US.
On that same trip our son Steve was asked to join the Massaro’s and Wohrer’s on their adventures to Arizona and New Mexico. Steve, Billy and Robbie got to be friends then and Frank saved them from a flash flood.
On our last visit Rita showed us her neighborhood and told about her friends in the singing group that entertained the neighbors during the holidays. Many times she would call us when the weather was bad in NY – often it was worse in Houston.
Golly I felt badly this past week and wish that I could be there with Rob, Amy, Angus Michalene and Lindsey, Chris and Jeff.
Rob, you took such wonderful care of your mom and the obit that you wrote was just perfect. I know the feeling when you lose your mother – you gain a heartache.
Love to all the Texas Yankees
Bob
