Obituary of Tony Frank Perez

Tony Frank Perez, 76, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Amador and Maria Cintora. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Maria Perez; daughters, Roxanne Perez, Leslie and husband, Tony Barcelona IV; grandchildren, Tony Frank Barcelona V, AnnMarie Rose Barcelona; and a host of other family and friends.
Tony started from humble beginnings and completed the ninth grade. Realizing the importance of education on his future, he returned and finished his GED. Tony proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He used these experiences and talents after he returned to earned degrees from the American Institute of Banking and Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU. Tony devoted his career to the banking industry and worked in every capacity from a teller to Branch President to Regional Administrator of national banks. For a time, he was employed with the FDIC to assist with closing trouble Savings and Loans. Tony went to work for the Department of Defense and traveled extensively throughout the Far East, Korea, Peru, Taiwan Straits and Mexico. He loved the outdoors and adventures. Tony and Maria loved traveling and included their daughters on many of their trips to Mexico, Panama, the Caribbean Islands, Lake Tahoe and the West coast. His devotion to his family and his community was evident in everything that he did. He will forever be remembered for his high standards of professionalism and his unwavering support of promoting economic development in impoverished communities. Tony will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service for Tony will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.
