Calvin Preston Wilson was born on Jan.25th, 1939 in Horntown Va. To Preston and Sadie Wilson.
He was the only son and fourth child born of four siblings. He graduated from Mary N. Smith High school in June of 1956. In 1957 he was joined in holy matrimony to his young wife Catherine Ann Matthews, sharing 35 years of marriage. Out of this union the Lord blessed them with six children Calvin(Donald) deceased, Cathy Payne, John Wesley Bugg Jr.(Steven Wilson) Von Wilson, Yayqob Wilson (Troy) and Samantha Davis. From these six children, 15 Grandchildren and 5 Great grandchildren where produced.
During their marriage they accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Personal Savior and went on to establish Non-Denominational Fellowship Center church, with its location in Del-mar Del.
His great way of listening intensely to everyone that came to him and comforting them to be able to press on and deal with whatever challenge was confronting them at that time. What more can be said of such a dynamic man of God we were blessed to have been inspired by. He let the ones that didn’t feel loved know, how important they were to him, the one that needed the most he pulled them to achieve their greatest potential. God richly blessed who ever crossed paths with Pastor C.P. Wilson.
His favorite scripture was Psalm 119; 9&11 where with all shall a young man cleanse his heart,
By taking heed thereto according to thy word, Thy word hath I hide in my heart that I might not sin against thee
His favorite song: Who am I? His life was living here to live again with Jesus!!
Pastor Wilson took a course with Moody Bible Institute in his early years of Ministry and was ordained into the Baptist organization. 14 years after the death of his wife Catherine Wilson, he moved to Pearland TX Where he was joined in Holy matrimony to Regina J. Hall, his present wife now of 11 and a half yrs.
During their lovingly expressed union they established Word Fellowship Center Church in Pearland Texas demonstrating perfect Godly union of love to each other that everyone that came in contact with them witnessed.
Pastor Wilson is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. &Mrs. Percy Wilson, his siblings Josephine, Mary and Rosalee. One son Calvin Donald Wilson and his first wife Catherine Wilson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, His loving Wife Regina Wilson, Five children, Cathy Payne, Coalinga California, John Wesley Bugg Jr. (Stevie Wilson) and his wife Cynthia Atlanta Ga. Von Wilson, Houston TX. Yaaqob (Troy) Wilson Seattle Washington and Samantha Davis, Bear Del. 15 Grandchildren Ariel, Aston, Amber, Latoya (Joseph) John Steven (Alica) Desmond, Brett, Drake, Nadia Kye, Jaylen, Jorden, Chatnea and William Jr. 5 Great grandchildren, Myasiah, Desmond Jr, Jasir, Isaiah, and Peyton. There are nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends all over, and last but by no means, least his dedicated congregation of Word Fellowship Center Church.
His powerful Stand in adversity, even when there was evidence with his natural eye that told him a different story. His constant word for the moment was stand in faith, and after done all to stand;STAND!
His preaching of Jesus Christ and him crucified “ONLY” was his life, and he demonstrated it every day all day. He always had a smile that would change the circumstance that was present at that moment. Always a hug ready, always a hand shake ready, always time to hear YOU! He made you feel that you were important even in the smallest things you had to talk to him about. He was indeed one of the most distinguished appropriately dressed men at all times. Radiating how a Godly man should dress at all times.
