Obituary of Janet Leigh Calhoun

Janet Leigh Calhoun, 66, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017. She is survived by her mother, Hattie M. Foster Kelly; husband of 45 years, David Lee Calhoun; son, David L. Calhoun, II; daughter, Shalon L. Calhoun; sisters, Beverly Green and Pamela Calhoun; grandchildren, Darius, Destinique, David, Davion, and Armani; great-grandson, Marcus; and a host of many other family and dear friends. Janet was affectionately known as the “Family Cook”. She took pride in cooking for her family and loved making sure that everyone was always fed. Janet enjoyed spending time outdoors and was always barefooted. Her greatest pleasure was being with and spending quality time with her family. If she was not with the family, Janet loved listening to her music. She also enjoyed collecting pictures of friends and family. Janet will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations or gift cards can be given to the family. Services for Janet will be held Saturday, April, 1, 2017 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will take place from 10:00 until 11:00 am with the funeral service following at 11:00 am with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.
