Zdenky Skrla Harman,90, died on June 24, 2017. She was born on August 1, 1926, in Crosby, Texas. At 18, Zdenky left Crosby to attend business school in Houston. After graduation, she worked as a secretary at Stauffer Chemical Company.
Zdenky married the love of her life, Charles Harman, in 1970. She became the mother of his four children and settled into life in Richmond, Texas. Throughout her life, Zdenky loved to cook and entertain. She and Charles belonged to a Gourmet Group that met every few months for decades to share good food and friendship. No matter where Zdenky went, she left friends and happy memories in her wake. She seemed to know someone in every city in Texas and will be fondly remembered by many.
The Methodist Church was an important part of Zdenky’s life. She enjoyed volunteering and cooking for others. Zdenky and Charles were members of First United Methodist Church in Pearland and enjoyed many happy activities with the Open Door Sunday School Class. She will be remembered for her smile and generosity of spirit with people throughout her church community.
