Obituary of Cynthia Howell McClain

Please share a memory of Cynthia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Cynthia Howell McClain, 60, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Jefferson and Josephine Howell; and brother, Tommy Crum.  Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Mike McClain; son, Derrick McClain and wife, Kortney; daughters, Laura Holder and husband, Jeff, Brittany Crabtree and husband, Casey; sister, Kathy Hart; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.

Cindy, or as some knew her “Pook”, was a loving and devoted mother and wife who truly enjoyed being with her family.  Family was of significant importance to her, whether they were hanging out in the shop cooking up a storm or playing on the beach.  All the grandchildren called her “Granny” and knew she always had popsicles and cookies ready to spoil them.  In her free time, she took pride in her vegetable garden and flowers.  Cindy was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed playing a good game of Texas forty-two or wahoo.  She had an amazing sense of humor and could always find a laugh, especially on her annual girl’s trip.  Cindy was strong in her faith and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service for Cynthia will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm at New Harvest Christian Fellowship Church, 12216 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77584, with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.
