Obituary of Robert Martinez

Robert Martinez, 82, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Julia Martinez; brother, Tony Martinez; and sisters, Lupe Silva and Lilly Martinez.  Robert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Frances Martinez; sons, Robert Martinez Jr, (Rosalinda), John Anthony Martinez (Aaron); daughters, Angelina Ocampo, Delphina Martinez, Delia Blair (John); sister, Rosie Becerril; grandchildren, Denise, Christopher, Eric, Jason, Victoria, Ray, Mark, Elizabeth, Linda; seventeen great grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.

Robert had a lengthy career in the pipeline manufacturing business where he managed the warehouse for many years. He was a great provider for his family and even his extended family. He was a father to many of his nieces and nephews as well as his own children. He certainly became the patriarch of the family and served in this capacity with honor and great integrity. Robert was a man of faith, was at peace with his life and would gladly help anyone who needed it. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Robert was an avid sports fan and loved the Rockets, Astros, Texans, the old Oilers and watching Little League.

The Martinez family would like to extend a special thank you to those who helped in his care; Natalie, Irma, Oscar, Mary Helen and Martha as well as those at Faith Community Hospice; Kim, Lisa, Doris, Mary, Leticia, Claudia and Paul.

Services for Robert will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.  Funeral service will take place, Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:00 am.
