Obituary of Robert Lester Roatch Jr

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert Lester Roatch, Jr, 54, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Roatch; and brother, Steven Roatch.  Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 22 years, Laurie Roatch; daughter, Kristen Jasek and husband, Justin; sisters, Gayle Franklin and husband, Terry, Laurie McEntee and husband, Pat; grandchild, Wyatt Alan Jasek; nephew Brendon Roatch-Cardenas and husband Brian, niece Briana O’hara; nephews Sean McEntee and wife Heather, and Ryan McEntee, as well a host of dear friends.

Rob was born and raised in Southern California.  He spent his high school years overseas in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Rome, Italy.  Upon returning to the US he made his home and future in Houston, Texas.  Following in his father’s footsteps, he lived out his dream as a carpenter, providing beautiful work for restaurants and bars across the United States.

Rob was the quintessential “Parrothead” that loved listening to Jimmy Buffett music, spending time on the beach relaxing or fishing.   His favorite destination was Eleuthera, Bahamas where he could soak up the sun.  Rob was an animal lover and his dogs, Bear and Dozer, were always at his side.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rob’s memory to the Houston SPCA at www.houstonspca.org.
