My prayers and condolences go out to Mike's family Julie, Luke & Chase. Mike was a loving and genuinely funny guy who always brought light into any room. I will miss his jokes and off the cuff remarks that gave life to any meeting. May God keep you and provide you with his unfailing peace and comfort. God Bless!

To the Davis Family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers for the unexpected passing of your beloved Mike. He was like an angel on Earth who was called to Jesus at an early age. He will be remembered always because of the great difference he made in so many lives and the legacy he leaves in his 2 sons.
In Faith,
Leah and husband Kelly Shaw

I had the honor and privilege of working with Mike at Texas Children's for the last four years. What can I say about Mike that everyone else hasn't already said? I don't know. But I know this, Mike was a friend to me and I will never forget him. When I now think about him, I think of the song "Be Like Mike", because the man Mike Davis that I know is a man of God, a great family man and a brilliant, hardworking, reliable, cheerful and wonderful colleague. That's what I aspire to be like. To Mike's family - my sincerest condolences to you all. I grieve with you and am at your service should a need arise.

I will remember Mike as a man that was genuine, funny, positive, and loved his wife and boys above all else.
While we did not work closely on a daily basis, the times I stopped by his office to chat (I had to grab some chocolate!) or worked with him facilitating a class or on a project, I always knew it would be a good experience.
My heart truly breaks for his wife, children, and family as I know our loss of Mike as a colleague is amplified exponentially for those closest to him. My prayers for you all will be ongoing.

Mike was a fabulous person who gave his all at Texas Children's. I met Mike on my first day of work in orientation. One of the speakers did not show up and so Mike gave the entire speech and demonstrated on how to save your back while working!
I thought to myself I bet he knows everyone's speech so he can be the back up.
That was an amazing first impression!
He was a wonderful orator and hard worker.
He always talked about his two boys and his wife. I know that he was a proud Dad and husband.
He will be greatly missed by all of Texas Children's.

Mike was always a pleasure to speak with. His love for sports and his family always made our conversations fun. Mike and I kicked it off as UofH alumni and fans of UofH and Houston sports. I could never get in to Dynamo but Mike loved them! Nonetheless, he always spoke beautifully of his sons, another connection between the two of us as I too have 2 boys. His sense of humor and wittiness will be greatly missed but I can say it was an honor to work with him and know him.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Mike is one of a kind and has innate traits you can’t teach people. He brought so many gifts to this world- his warmth, humor, kindness, inclusiveness and calmness. Mike was a friend to anyone he met. I feel so lucky to have known Mike. My heart goes out to his wife and adorable kids.

Though it has been too many years now since my time at Texas Children's, I still can picture some of my favorite things about Mike: especially, his quick, deceptively sly sense of humor, deployed when you didn’t expect it. You could get him going, seen by that look in his eye. And he knew how to play long with wily colleagues. This has been a sign to me, and no doubt others, of his deep caring and generosity, combined with mischief. Which I love, and will always love about Mike. This is my way of saying something more, in the end, about Mike's great hope--for his family, for the community, for his colleagues. Even more than Mike’s steady, consistent effort and insight about how things are, staying with me forever will be MIke's sense of how things can be. How good things can be.

Leo and Rita raised one heck of a good man! Sharp as a whip, funny, dedicated to friend and family. A large soul and a small ego - don't see too much of that these days! We miss our friend, and from his family at Texas Children's to Julie, Luke, Chase and the entire Davis family, our thoughts, prayers, hearts and hands are with you! GOD bless you
