Obituary of Surilda Ann Hadley
Surilda “Ann” Hadley, 85, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion Cotton and Leroy Roper; husband, John Henry Hadley; and brother, Leroy Roper. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Wanda Wilson, Judy Peterson and husband, Anthony; son, William “Pablo” Hawkins; grandchildren, Phillip Roberts and wife, Raquel, Apryl Tillman, Donald Slaughter, Kyle William, Michael Hawkins, Anthony Peterson, Jr., Laura Solis, Betty Solis, J. Fredo Solis,; great grandchildren, Michael Roberts and wife, Meredith, Phillip Michael Roberts, Jocelyn Morales; beloved cat Miss Ruby; Tom Bass Senior Community, The Way of Life Church, and Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church families; along with a host of other family and dear friends.
Surilda was always the life of the party, a mother to many, and she never met a stranger. She was always laughing, dancing, and listening to music. She liked playing cards and knew how to have a good time. Surilda was sassy and always had a snappy answer for everything. She enjoyed getting dressed up, always had lipstick on even around the house, and her makeup was always done. She was a great communicator, a hard worker, and she always expected others to work just as hard. She had a never give up mentality and believed in the phrase “The worst thing they can tell you is no”. Surilda was many things, but above all else she was a child of God. She would go out of her way to help anyone who needed it. To her family and many others around her she was the total package and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation and service for Surilda will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until service time at 11:00 am, with Pastor Chris Clemons officiating. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens.
