Obituary of Noel Alberto Cognet, Sr
Noel Alberto Cognet, Sr., 72, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on June 1, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Noelia Moreno and Guy Cognet. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Magdalena Cognet; sons, Luis A. Lapidus and wife, Celina, Noel Alberto Cognet, Jr. and wife, Amanda, Jean-Paul Cognet and wife, Myra; daughter, Janette Chairez and husband, Alexi; brother, Guy Cognet and wife, Martha; sister, Yolanda Cognet, grandchildren, Nyssa and Robert Lapidus, Talia, Evan, Calliope and Lilou Cognet, Olivia and Jean-Paul Jr. Cognet, Emma and Katelynn Chairez; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Noel was an extremely proud Puerto Rican who served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. After serving, he worked for the U.S Post Office for 30 years. He loved to dance and listen to Salsa music. Noel enjoyed working on projects at home, working in his garden, maintaining the yard and just sitting outside and relaxing. He was a sharp dresser who collected watches and was always proud of his mustache. Noel was a fan of all New York sports teams: Giants, Yankees, Knicks; and was a big wrestling fan. In his free time, he liked to watch classic western movies and play dominoes. Noel was a hard-working man who would do absolutely anything for his family. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren to the park and spending time with them. Noel never met a stranger and always found someone to talk to wherever he went. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
