Obituary of Cecil Homer Jones, Jr

Cecil Homer Jones, Jr., 66, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on June 4, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vennie Mae Arrant and Cecil Homer Jones, Sr., and sister, Cheryl Whitaker. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Jones; sons, Jeremy M. Jones, Sr. and wife, Tammie, Kevin W. Jones and wife, Bridget, Casey M. Jones and wife, Brandy; brothers, Terry Jones and wife, Brenda; sister, Debbie Alterman; grandchildren, Jeremy Jr., Hailee, Cody, MaKayla, Bailey, Alexis; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Cecil was an amazing teacher and did so by leading by example. He was a man of his word who was completely dedicated to whatever he agreed to. He was a man of few words and stern at times, but he was also kind, loved to laugh, and had a profound sense of humor. Cecil loved his wife more than anything else; no matter how tired he was or how he felt, he always made sure she was okay. He would do little things like making sure she had water by her bed, and before he would lay down at night, he made sure she had everything she needed. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He developed an especially close relationship with Alexis because like him, she is a girl of few words, and they loved spending time together not talking to each other. Cecil would do anything to help someone out and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

A visitation and funeral service for Cecil will take place at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018. A service will be held the next day, Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Trevor Kelley officiating.
