Obituary of Sandra Ruth Turnquist

Sandra Ruth Turnquist, 59, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on June 13, 2018. She is preceded in death by her father, Walter John Turnquist. Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Sylvia Skotak; daughter, Sarah Dougherty; son, Eric Turnquist; wife, Christine Turnquist; brother, David Turnquist; nephew, Bryan Turnquist. Her many close friends and Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority sisters will miss her dearly.

Sandra graduated from Armstrong State College in Savannah, Georgia, with a double bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology. She so loved animals and often volunteered with Red Collar Rescue by fostering animals in readiness for adoption. She was very well spoken, having been a radio announcer for many years in a variety of cities and stations across the country. Sandra had a green thumb and enjoyed growing flowers, plants and especially herbs such as chives, oregano and mint. She loved her most recent job with RE/MAX Top Realty as the Director of Agent Technology. Sandra was also a huge Georgia Bull Dog fan and followed them faithfully. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held for Sandra at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Friday, June 15, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 2535 E. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with Father Jim Liberatore officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
