Obituary of Ross Ellis Gaulding

Ross Ellis Gaulding passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the age of 69. He was born on April 10, 1949 in Houston, TX to Joe Arvin and Herschel Dean Gaulding. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1967 and went on to study electrical engineering at Texas Tech University, graduating with a BA in 1973. He worked at and eventually ran the family business, Gateway Lumber Company, for nearly 3 decades before going to work at Pearland Lumber, where he put in more than 15 years of service.

Ross was unfailingly committed to his family, his work, his Harley, and the Houston Astros, and could beat just about anyone at a game of Trivial Pursuit. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Ross is survived by his wife, DiAnna Gaulding; sister, LuAnn Matzas; daughters, JoDee Engle and Marie Foster; and four grandchildren, Katie, David, Madeline, and Jillian.
