Obituary of Billie Sue Garrison

Billie Sue Garrison, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mildred Oliphant; husband, Richard Garrison; son, Dr. Glenn Garrison; and brother, Louis Oliphant Jr.  Left to cherish her memory are her son, John M. Garrison; grandchildren, Michael Venable, Sean Venable, Richard Garrison, Eric Garrison; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Billie had a love of travel and discovery.  She traveled extensively across the US and Canada and visited Europe, Asia, and South America.  As a librarian, teacher, and mother, Billie had a passion for elevating people.  Her joy of reading was something she passed on to her boys.  Through those pages the three of them traveled far and wide to places both real and imaginary.   She was a staunch protector and supporter of her family - through hard times like illnesses, and great times like Band Concerts and Boy Scout awards.   She was there for those who needed her, and she left us all the better for it.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Billie’s honor to the Pearland Library.  If wishing to donate to the library, checks need to be addressed to Brazoria County Library or BCLS. We suggest you may want to direct the funds to the Pearland Branch specifically and perhaps more specifically to Children's books. Services for Billie will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will take place Friday, September 7, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.  The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.
