Obituary of Linda Lee Risinger

Linda Lee Risinger, 56, of La Porte, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Lois Monk. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Darrell Risinger, as well as many cherished family, friends, and co-workers. 

Linda was a devoted follower of Christ, a loyal wife, and a loving daughter and aunt. She spent the last 32 years serving as a dedicated teacher for Pasadena I.S.D. In that time, she inspired many with her rare passion for her students, and she loved them as the children she never had. Linda, also known as "Flamingo,” made an impact not only on her students but with her colleagues as well.  One couldn’t help but smile when entering through the doors of her hot pink office referred to as “Paradise.”

Linda would rarely be found without a book nearby or on her Nook looking up a new recipe. Her ribs, gumbo, and secret dirty rice recipe will be missed almost as much as her quick wit and sarcasm. She spent her favorite days in flipflops listening to Jimmy Buffet, Elvis, and Phillip Craig and Dean while planning her next summer vacation usually centered around her pursuit of the next Margaritaville. Linda was an animal lover especially with an affection for her dogs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

A visitation for Linda will be held at Clayton's Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m.

For those who knew Linda well, you understand that she would not want her service to be a formal affair. Therefore, business casual is encouraged.
