Obituary of Donald George Beardsley

Donald George Beardsley, 77, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Roswell and Shirley Beardsley; and brother, Lester Beardsley.  Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 54 years, Betty Jean Beardsley; son, Donald George Beardsley, Jr.; daughters, Donna Jean Beardsley, Anna Garcia; brother, Karl Beardsley; sister, Ethlyn Blubach; grandchildren, Tyler Daniel Beardsley, Nicholas Manolescu, Julia Garica; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Donald was a Greenbay Packer’s fan and enjoyed watching football. He liked to play cribbage and solitaire. His free time was spent watching and reading old westerns, and, without a doubt, he was always on the couch in time for wheel of fortune. Donald was dedicated to his work and was an excellent provider for his family. While he was quiet and kept to himself all you had to do was talk about the Navy or military and he was your best friend. Donald will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.    

Services for Donald will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will be held from 5:00 until 6:00 pm with the funeral service following at 6:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.  Interment with military honors will take place Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 10:15 am at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
