Funeral Service Friday, Mar 24, 2017 2:00 PM Denise Kelly Cain February 05, 1965 - March 18, 2017 Mrs. Denise Kelly Cain passed from this life Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Austin, Texas. Born February 5, 1965 in Queens, New York, New York. She was raised In Taunton, Massachusetts and moved to Lexington, Kentucky where she graduated from High School. In 1987 she graduated from Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. She started working as an engineer for Exxon in 1988 where she met her husband. She married Richard D. Cain on May 27, 1998. Denise has been a resident of La Porte, Texas for the past 19 years. She was a faithful member of Broadway Church of Christ in La Porte where she worked closely with her preacher and other church groups. Denise loved her church, family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, decorating and doing crafts with her grandchildren and family members. Every stranger she met became her best friend in minutes. She was a very loving and outgoing person. Denise was loved by everyone who knew her and will be truly missed. It was a genuine blessing to have Denise as a friend. She was preceded in death by her step father Sam Nahra , and her grandson Dakota Hansen. Survivors include her Husband Richard D. Cain Sr.,La Porte; Step children Rebecca Cain, La Porte; Richard D. Cain Jr., Hallettsville; Mother, Jane Nahra, MA.; Father George M. Lyon, Lexington KY; Mother in law Shirley Barnhart of La Porte; Brother Chris Lyon, Taunton, MA. ; Sisters Katy Swinford, Nicholasville, KY ; Patty and husband Abe Jackson, Melbourne FL; Brother-in-law’s Darrell Cain, Pasadena and Kent and wife Mary Cain Pasadena; Mike and wife Marla Goodnight, Pasadena; Rick and wife Rebecca Goodnight, Gainesville, FL.; Sister- in- law, Jerri Hilborn, Prescott Valley, AZ.; Granddaughter Kaitlynn Branch, Hallettsville; Nephews and nieces, Christopher Orr, Michael Orr, and Alex Orr, Lexington KY; Samantha Lyon and Barrett Lyon, Taunton, MA. ; Anthony Cain, Pasadena; Toni Waller, Pasadena; Nichol Hilborn, Boonton, NJ; Aunt and Uncle Jeff and Susan Rossio, Fredrick, MD.; And a multitude of close friends. Services are Friday March 24, 2017 2:00 P M at the Broadway Church of Christ in LaPorte with interment at Grand View Memorial park. Family will receive Friends at Broadway Church of Christ Thursday evening beginning at 5:00 P M.
