Obituary of Sara Farias Canales

Sara Farias Canales September 24, 1937 - January 24, 2011 Sara Farias Canales, 73, of La Porte, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2011. She was born in Alice, Texas and was devoted to her Catholic religion. She is preceded in death by her husband, Servando Canales, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Diana Allen and husband Jay, daughter Veronica Perez and husband Jaime, and son Servando Canales III; sister Maria C. Rodriguez; grandchildren Denise Bergman and husband Kelly, Derek Allen, Danielle Allen, and Deborah Allen, along with nieces, nephews and devoted friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Her smile and good humor always made it a special time especially during Christmas. She always made the White Elephant gift exchange a memorable one. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Paul U. Lee-La Porte Funeral Home Chapel, 201 South 3rd St., La Porte, TX with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service in celebration of Sara’s life is scheduled for Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Chapel at 10:00 a.m. by Pastor John D. McDuff. Interment to follow at La Porte Cemetery.
