Diana Lynn Forrister, 62, passed away in LaPorte, TX on November 20, 2015. Diana was born in Coldwater, MI on July 8, 1953 and moved to Marshall, MI with her parents when she was a year old. She attended Marshall Public Schools her entire life and graduated from Marshall High School in 1971.
Diana moved to Texas in 1996. At the time of her death she was retired as a pathology transcriptionist at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. In the past she had been employed by Oaklawn hospital in Marshall, MI; Community Health Center in Battle Creek, MI; Blue Care Network in Kalamazoo, MI; and Regional Medical Laboratories in Battle Creek, MI.
Diana enjoyed reading as well as spending time at home with her family and friends. After moving to Texas she joined the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2001 and was an active volunteer on the Merchandise Committee every year. She was most recently named lifetime committeeman for her years of service. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband and in fact drove her own motorcycle until her health declined. Diana was a member of First Baptist Church of Lomax in LaPorte, TX and had been baptized there in 2011.
Diana is survived by her husband and best friend, Michael Dee Forrister, whom she married in 2003. She is also survived by her children Amanda Baker and fiancé Brett Weaver of Kalamazoo, MI; Thomasray Topp and wife Autumn of Vail, AZ; stepchildren Gerrie Adkins of Marshall, MI; Nicky Adkins Jr of Battle Creek, MI. Grandchildren Brandon Baker and Wesley Baker of Battle Creek, MI; Eden Leedy and husband Jerry of Kimper, KY and Dallas Topp of Vail, AZ. Greatgrandchildren Gatlin Leedy and Mia Leedy of Kimper, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Osie Noblit.
Cremation has occurred and a memorial service for Diana will be held at Paul U. Lee LaPorte Funeral Home on December 12, 2015 at 11am and officiated by Rev. Jerry Agnew.
