John James Bingham Sr, passed away on February 19, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Julia (Rinchisen Poland) Bingham and wife, Patricia (Bentham) Bingham. He is survived by his sons, John Bingham Jr. & his wife Leesa and Brian Bingham; and daughter, Elizabeth Jewkes; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. John “Jack” was born on June 29, 1922 in Tucson, Arizona. He resided in Pinow Hills, California, before settling in the Houston area in 1994. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Naval Air Corps in the Pacific as a pilot on a PB2Y Coronado. He was discharged on April 4, 1946. John and Julia were married in 1945 and remained happily married until Julia’s passing in 1991. Jack was a faithful member of Victorville Baptist Church and Shadycrest Baptist Church in Pearland. In his spare time he loved reading, especially the Bible or anything about history. There are many family memories of vacations in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and spending time at a cabin there teaching his sons how to fish. Jack made a career in farming management and as an antiques dealer. Jack will always be remembered for his positive influence on his childrean and as a very honorable man whose word was always his bond. A Funeral Service for Jack will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Clayton Chapel. Pastor Stephen Daily will be officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
