Harmon Oscar Hall

Harmon Oscar Hall, 80, of La Porte, Texas passed away on March 27th, 2014. He was born in Scottsboro, Alabama on March 22nd 1934. He was married to Barbara Ellen Hall for 33 years before her passing in 1996. Even after Barbara’s passing he remained devoted to her until his last breath. Harmon was a caring and loving father to his children, Douglas Hall and wife Mary, Stephen Hall and wife Nancy, and Deborah Vanderhoef and husband Tre’. He took great pleasure in spoiling his grandchildren Jaysen Hall and Katie Vanderhoef. Harmon served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and served in the reserves after that. After his military service he worked and retired from Ford Motor Company as a millwright and served many years as a steward in the UAW. After moving to La Porte, he worked and retired from Nabisco in Houston as a millwright and served as shop steward to local #2232 there for many years. In addition to his wife Barbara, Harmon is reunited in heaven with his father and mother Solomon and Maude, his brothers Solomon Hall JR., Herschel Hall, and sister Irene Hill. In addition to his children and grandchildren Harmon is survived and will be missed by his brother Ray Hall and wife Sue, his sisters Alene Hall, Elizabeth McAllister and husband Leon, Opal Crews and husband Don, sister-in-law Dorothy Mannon, sister-in-law Mary Revis and husband Bill, brother-in-law Arnold Moses and wife Norma, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. The viewing will be held at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home from 2:00-5:00PM on Sunday March 30th. The services to celebrate his life will be 10:30 AM on Monday March 31st at Deer Park church of God.
