Erwin Alfred Matocha, a resident of Kingwood and former resident of Pearland, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the age of 82 years. Erwin was born May 22, 1924 in Bastrop County, Texas to the late Alfred Adolph and Theresa (Adamcik) Matocha. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. Erwin is preceded in death by a son, Mark Erwin Matocha and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Martin Matocha. He is survived by a loving family; his beloved wife of 60 years, Peggy Ruth Volcik Matocha; son, Martin Matocha and his wife, Debbie, of Porter, TX; two daughters, Suzanne Matocha, of Houston, TX and Mary Brower and her husband, Jack, of Carson City, NV; seven grandchildren, Duane Matocha, Christopher Matocha and his wife, Cara, all of Houston, TX, Stacey Childress Meyer and her husband, Chip, of Richmond, TX and Mandy Childress Kelley and her husband, Clay, of Rosenberg, TX, and Dusty Brower, Ian Brower and Ché Brower, all of Carson City, NV; four great grandchildren, Sade Kelley, of Rosenberg, TX, and Layton Meyer, Layne Meyer and Landry Meyer, all of Richmond, TX; brother, Alfred Erwin and his wife, Frankie, of Pearland; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Sunday, March 18, 2007, in the Chapel of Clayton Funeral Home where a vigil will be offered at 7 PM Sunday evening. The Celebration of the Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 19, 2007, in the Chapel of Clayton Funeral Home with Msgr. Reginald R. Nesvadba officiating. Rite of committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, in Pearland.
